Inventions

Since we are in the throes of new home preparations we have been thinking a lot about options for the new house, like granite counter tops, and diagonal tiles and light fixtures. I have been thinking about what I could TRULY use in a new house though.

1. Hygiene Alarm - This would be a special sensor placed near the front door. When a person (adolescent boy) passed the senor in attempt to leave the house an alarm would sound if it could not detect traces of shower gel, toothpaste, or deodorant.

2. Smart Kitchen - Prepare yourself for genius. An interface between the store and the kitchen. Somehow when groceries are purchased an inventory would be sent to your come computer. Then when something was removed from the fridge or pantry a bar code reader would automatically notate the use of that item. THEN when it is menu planning time dinners could be typed in and the computer would automatically generate a list based on the recipe vs. what items had already been used. I do not know exactly how all those would work out, but I am a big picture gal. Someone else should take care of the details.

3. Car Cleaning Garage - I had another plan for a clean car here. But I think this is an improvement. It is like a self cleaning oven. When the car is parked into the garage at night a button could be pressed. Once that button is hit a LASER then would safely incinerate all papers left in the van. Except for money and student work I brought home from school, but then neglected to actually bring into the house and grade. Hmmmm? Maybe back to the drawing board for this one.

4. I have been working on this one for quite some time. A laundry system where when the washer is done it automatically dumps the laundry into the dryer. The weight of the wet laundry then would automatically cause the dryer to start. Let's go one step further and find a way the next load could be dumped into the washer. Voila! When you came home from work two or three loads of laundry would be clean and ready for The Coach to fold!!

What else? What life improving necessities would you put in a new house??

I am linking up at these two blogs to enjoy some other sites today. You go too!!
