My New Favorite Color

Most of my life my favorite color has been green.

It has been more than a favorite color really.  It has been more of a signature.  My walls have been green.  My couch has been green.  (At the same time the walls were even.....it was hard to find a place to sit down in THAT living room.)  My clothes and accessories are definitely green.  My son bought me new i-pod headphones for my birthday -  even a fifteen year old boy knew to buy me green!

According to the internet green is ...The color of harmony and balance, Green symbolizes hope, renewal and peace, and is usually liked by the gentle and sincere. Greens are generally frank, community-minded people, fairly sociable but preferring peace at any price. Green people can be too self-effacing, modest and patient, so they may get exploited by others. They are usually refined, civilized and reputable.

I think my favorite color may be shifting.

I am digging this color now.  Maybe I am late to the party and orange was already popular.
I don't know. I like it though.

My best friend P$ insists this is coral, not orange.  Therefore I must continue to stubbornly refer to it as orange.

Here is what I found out about orange.
This color of luxury and pleasure appeals to the flamboyant and fun-loving person who likes a lively social round. Orange people may be inclined to dramatize a bit, and people notice them, but they are generally good-natured and popular. They can be a little fickle and vacillating, but on the whole they try hard to be agreeable. Orange is the color of youth, strength, fearlessness, curiosity and restlessness.

Does this mean I am becoming less peaceful, refined and reputable??  And more restless and fickle?

What is your favorite color?   Are you passionate about it....or do you just like it?

Do you think what your favorite color says about you is true, or just general enough to apply to everyone?

Last question.......do you think it makes sense that your favorite color would change as you get older and more mature.  (Oh...that mature part was hard to type.)

  1. I don't really have a favorite, but if I look in my closet it's mostly green and purple. So I guess one of those?

  2. I have two favorite colors...am I allowed to? I love pink and red...they are similar so does that count. For my house I love red...I have a red accent wall, red apples all over my kitchen and dining room and if I had it my way I'd have red bedding. But for my clothes...it's mostly pink.

  3. If you ask me, my favorite color is purple. But I tend to wear a ton of green. My workout watch and iPod are green.
But I love to run in orange. I feel it gives me good running mojo.
So I guess I'm all over the place.

  4. I've always been a "cool" color person. Purples, blues, pinks, etc., look better on me. But in the past year, I've decided to embrace the other colors and have been buying oranges, yellows, and greens.

  5. I guess I'm a jewel-tone kind of girl? But, I can wear just about any color for some reason without looking horrid. I love orange. It's happy, it's peppy, it's spicy. And, you know, it makes juice that's good for you. So I guess you can't go wrong with it.

  6. My favorite color is blue, but navy blue rocks my world!

I love that you're switching to orange, thereby diminishing your reputation. Orange rocks. Totally worth the loss. ;)

  10. Green is my favorite color too....but I do not fit the color profile.
What is the color for confrontational and bossy...but mostly positive over negative...and waiting til the last minute on most things?
    Maybe red? Hmmmmm.

  11. My favorite color has shifted over time too. I tell people it's red, but I think secretly it's brown. People cringe when I say that though. But I can't help it, I love brown! :)
