Like a Surgeon

We are home from The Coach's Tommy John surgery.

We got up bright and early to be there. I got the stink eye for eating a cinnamon roll in front of a guy who couldn't have food or liquids. Oops.

The surgery went well although he would not let me photograph him in his gown, or the compression thingies, or the shower cap thingie. Can't say that I blame him.

The nurses were the absolute nicest nurses I have ever seen. The one who walked us out to the car gave The Coach a big hug even.

I had to drive us home. Even under heavy sedation and pain killers he found a way to direct my driving. Probably a good thing. I would have hated to get lost on the way home from the medical center.

Now he just has eight months of rehab. Maybe it will turn out like that movie, Rookie of the Year and The Coach can become a major league pitcher. That would awesome.

  2. When I saw the title of this entry I thought it might an ode to "Weird Al" but I guess not. Hope he feels better.

  3. That was all I could think of for a title, but I will work on that Ode to Al.
