The Hills

I read recently a running article written by an expert in cardio torture. He said a good way to increase running speed is to run hills. So I went to the big green hill behind the high school track and I ran up and down it as part of my work out this morning.

So far it hasn't made me faster. In fact, I can't move at all.

It hurts to type.

Ouch.

Mommy?

  1. In our summer training, we do a stairs and hill repeat workout...it took me 20 min to get out of my car and into the office the last time we did it...and get to do it again in Sept. Yikes.

  2. LOL. I really enjoy the cross trainer, though I stay on it for an hour and when I do that my legs are like jello!

  3. Hills can be really helpful! Maybe not right away, but they will help! I started reversing my favorite run and there is a monster hill that I had been used to running down... now I have to run up it at least 3 times... My pace has been getting better. I have also noticed my breathing getting better too... Good luck! :)

  4. My son has been having trouble with his ankles so I insisted that before running anymore he go to a running shoe store to get the right pair for him. He's 20 but his excitement over the potential of these shoes reminds me of when he was little and convinced that new Nikes would make him really fast!

  6. Good for you. Some people say, "No pain, no gain", but then others say "Pain is telling you to stop." Play safe. It will get better, if it doesn't kill you first. Rosemary

I rode a bike two nights ago for the first time this summer. My butt...my poor poor butt...

  8. I do body pump. I can't sit on the toilet after a real grueling workout. I call for Daddy.
