Minute Monday

Ian at Daily Dose of Reality is changing Monday Minute to Monkey Monday Minute for today. Please drop by and check him out.

1. How old do you act?

Not like a child. More like a 20-something. I forget that I am not young. Usually I forget until my body starts to hurt from trying to do things I could do with no problem a few years ago.

Also sometimes people staring at me like I am crazy snaps me back to reality.

2. As far back as you can remember what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a teacher. I am a teacher. My life long dream has come true. Maybe I should have aimed higher.

3. If you were to write a book based on your life, what would the title be?

You Can Ignore Me, but I Won't Go Away.

4. What is something that you do considered childish by most?

I still like to swing at the playground and I REFUSE to eat peas! Ewwww.

5. The last question isn't a question. Write a story of a time of when you or someone you know overcame great adversity.

My friend here at work had to be on bed rest for like ten weeks. Not only was she on bed rest, but she was actually inverted. She ate like this, everything. She had to do this so her baby would make it to 26 weeks and have a chance to survive. After that her baby was in the NICU for the rest of the summer before she got to come home where she was still connected to a myriad of wires. Today the baby is happy and healthy and about to turn three.

On a more serious note, I am sorry to hear about Monkey. I hope everything goes well and I pray for the best possible outcome.

  2. I hate peas, too. They look like boogers and they taste like snot. And you can give me the freshest pea in the world to try and change my mind and I will still taste the snot.

My friend, too, had her baby at 26 weeks. 1 lb 10 oz. 89 days in the NICU. She is now a thriving, healthy baby. We will pray for the same miracle for Monkey.
