Two more weeks are left on my half marathon training plan. I went for an 11 mile run on Sunday. It was a great run for two reasons. First I ran from my mom's house and there is a hoity toity neighborhood nearby with nice houses and nature and fitness trails. It was a lovely change of pace from the feeder road and truck stop I usually run past. Secondly my nice husband put some new music on my ipod. Michael Jackson! With new music and new scenery..I ran like the wind...ok, like a strong breeze, a breath?
I "Wanna be Startin' Something", so I did a warm up lap around the neighborhood with Saige. It is nearly impossible to listen to The King of Pop without grooving so I was doing some run/dancing. Saige complained. Something about embarrassment. She rolled her eyes and, "Beat It" the next time we passed Mom's house.
The other awesome thing about this run was that the trail had a bathroom on it! I was so excited. I had to go, "BAD", so I used it even though it had signs all over it warning against trespassing. What can I say? I am a "Smooth Criminal". I used it again later just because I could.
I kept on running my motto is, "Don't Stop Til' You Get Enough!". Besides I want to be fit and look like a "PYT".
I miscalculated and finished the eleven miles and cool down walk with two more to get home so I called The Coach to come pick me up. You have no idea "The Way It Makes Me Feel" to see him pulling up to fetch me.
Eleven miles is the furthest I have ever run. It was a real....................................... "Thriller".
Thanks for playing along!!
Only a little more than a week until the half marathon!!

While training for a 1/2...you should be able to eat the junk food you want. You are my hero! Good luck.
ReplyDeleteWow! Way to go! I am now singing Michael Jackson songs in my head (every time I read one of the titles, they were playing, like your ipod tracks, in my head...thank your hubby for me!);)
ReplyDeleteYour hubby sounds like a really nice guy. That's really sweet!
I'm rootin' for you, Heather!
Congrats on the 11 miles - that's awesome!
ReplyDeleteClosest thing I do to running is on my treadmill but it amazes me how a change in music can add a spring to your step!
ReplyDeleteWow-you are funny, love it! Love the profile, too. Just hopping on over from Well to Do. Stop and see us sometime. We are funny and fabulous (or at least we think so).
ReplyDeleteCheers!

ReplyDeleteLOVE THAT!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou know your MJ hits, don't you?
ReplyDeleteAmazing how music gets you to perform better.
Oh you are so creative! :) Love it! I could hear Michael the whole time...As I was seeing you running all of a sudden Michael would pop into my visual image and I could hear him screaming the lyrics. :) Great job on your 11 Heather!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great run! Thanks for stopping by my blog (Diaperville), just stopping by to follow back.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by on your blog hop. Nice to meet you too.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha... I love this. I was listening to music on my iPod today in the gym smiling and laughing and singing. I must have looked like a nut. Luckily, my children are not old enough to hang out in the gym with me yet. They shall hang their heads in shame soon enough.
ReplyDeleteYou Americans sure can run far.
ReplyDeleteI thought I was a runner, then I started reading blogs in which the fabulous bloggers were like, "I just ran 10 miles..." And now you have the energy to blog? Fantastic! I am not worthy Heather, I am not worthy!
Good luck Heather on your training!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI've never run a whole mile in my life. I'm in awe. You keep at it! I'll be living vicariously through your run grooving posts!
ReplyDeleteI really wish I liked to run. I thought about training for a five k, you know a cancer to five k triumphant run? Only that means I have to put on my tennis shoes that touch my feet. And I'm pretty sure they won't let me run in flip flops.
