Apparently there is some New Kids On the Block, Backstreet Boys thing going on. I am not really all that familiar with either band. It reminded me though of a recent conversation with The Coach.
The Coach: [Boy Band] is coming to town. Do you want to go?
Me: Nah.
TC: Which one of them did you like?
Me: I really wasn't that into them. I do not know their names.
TC: Yes you do. How can you say that? They were huge with the girls.
Me: I think they were after my time. By the time they were popular I was in college.
TC: No you weren't. I was in junior high.
Me: Yes............... when you were in junior high I was in college.
TC: No way.
Me: When you were in the seventh grade. I was a freshman in college. (And then we counted together.)
TC: (silence) (silence) I am a stud! You are GROSS!
How about you. Older? Younger? My dad is exactly one day younger than my mom so he spends that entire day following her around calling her a "crotchedy old broad." It just never gets old.

I am about 2 1/2 months older than my hubby. This year we both turned 30 and he didn't let a day pass between our birthdays without saying "You're getting old, you are 30!!" Then I had to remind him that it wouldn't be much longer until he was 30. He always says "Yeah, but you are still older than me!" My mom is two years older than my dad so yeah, she definitely robbed the cradle!
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteI'm 14 months older than my husband. Those 2 months where my age is 2 years older, he loves.
Too funny! I'm 3 years younger than my husband so I tease him a bit about robbing the cradle. My dad is 3 months younger than my mom, so he spends those three months teeling everyone how old she is and that he's a year younger. Still makes me laugh.
ReplyDeleteWhile there is 9 years difference between DH and me, it never seems that way...until we meet up for something like his 30th High School Reunion. Making small-talk that night, someone said, "Man, I feel old! Do you feel old?" I replied, "I don't feel old. I was only 8 when you graduated from High School." *smirk*
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday! :o)
When I met JP, he told me that he was 25 (which is how old I was turning because it was my birthday)....it wasn't until I saw his license almost a year later(!!) that I realized he was actually 5 years older than me. Which wasn't that big of a deal, I still don't know why he didn't just tell me he was 29 when we met....then again, I was probably spouting some garbage about how I wouldn't date anyone more than 3 years older or younger than me because I did use to say that an awful lot, lol
ReplyDeleteWhat is age? Nothing really. (You cougar you). Hope you have a great holiday!
ReplyDeleteThat is hilarious because I hound my husband all the time. He is 8 yrs older than me, so it is fun to remind him that when he was graduating school I was 10!
ReplyDeleteHi! Stopping by from the Tuesday hop...I already follow you! Feel free to stop by and link up to my Thanksgiving blog hop!

That's hilarious! My ex was ten years older then me, and I realised how strange that was when we figured he would be going to his high school grad and I was in grade 2.... I now know that's why it didn't work between us :-) FF is 3 years older and always refers to things back in the day "when you were sh*tting in diapers" and tells everyone he has a younger woman. 3 years? I don't see it...
ReplyDeleteI'm about 5 months older than my husband. He likes to call me his Cougar.
ReplyDeleteLol. My hubby is 7 years older than I am, so about the same as you and hubby. He's always telling me that I'm from an uncultered generation because I didnt' grow up with all teh same music/movies that he did. It's hilarious.
ReplyDeleteSo funny! I'm actually about 3 months older than my husband. He teases me those 3 months too!

Mr. BFG is six years older than me. We love those conversations though, when he talks about something that happened while he was in college and I'm all like, "yeah...I was thirteen."
ReplyDeleteAs for NKOTB, I wasn't into the "craze" but I definitely liked them. I might have a song or two on my iPod. But the BEST story is this...
Mr. BFG's uncle got tickets for him and a friend to see Tiffany. Yes. Tiffany. The opening act? NKOTB. Only at that point, nobody knew who they were. So he goes and he's all like, "this is lame." He said all of the girls are screaming and crying. It was apparently all very ridiculous.
Hello, I’m blog hopping. Hope you come by my blog for visit and wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Now that is funny. My mother is about that much older than her husband. As for me I am only two years younger than mine.
ReplyDeleteHi from your newest followers via FMBT!
My ex was 2 and 1/2 yrs younger than I am. I like somewhat younger men I guess, lol. But I also LOVED New Kids, haha.

I am exactly 18 mos older than my husband, but he makes it seem like it's 10 yrs.
ReplyDeleteHe's getting on my nerves...
My husband is 8 years older and it is endless source of amusement to tease him about it.
