By then though I was committed to a fiesta, so we put it in bowls. (Wow. That is three minutes of your life you will never get back.)
I searched for cute cake ideas. I found some tacos, but I just wasn't inspired. I went with this. (Thanks Aunt V. for lending me your cake pans.)
Shaye dug it. She was tentative at first, but dug in later. In fact I am still finding icing in the kitchen. She is looking at Aunt Preeti like, "A fork please? Let's be civilized."
Her first ride on toy. She dug this too. Don't be fooled into thinking Tayte was helping her out of the goodness of his heart. He is just hoping to build up enough speed to throw her off on a turn so he can abscond with the toy.
Here Shaye is getting some love from Aunt Pree, also known as P$. She is not biologically an aunt, but the closest thing to a sister I have. Probably better than a sister even. No sibling rivalry or competition for attention.
No competing for attention here either. She has all Gramma's attention.
Well that is the birthday and for a short period of time I have both a one year old AND a two year old. But that will all change next week and I am already seeing both the wonderful and the dreadful characteristics of a three year old.
I am joining the hops today. I hope you join as well.
Cute cake and even cuter kiddos! Happy birthday Shaye!

I'm a new follower from FMBT. I have to be--you have five kids, and I need to know your secret. I only have one two year-old, and at times, I feel overwhelmed. I love the birthday party pics and your commentary. Too funny. Happy birthday to the little one and to your soon to be three year old. Have a great day!

ReplyDeleteThat cake looks delicious and so pretty. I couldn't believe you let her have the entire top tier! Not because it's bad for her. But because that's less for you!
