365 Days of Sweet!!

We had Shaye Baby's birthday party on Saturday. It was a FIESTA. I had the idea for a fiesta because I was going to serve these cute tacos in a bag by slicing open a mini bag of Frito's and then topping it with taco filling and cheese and lettuce and so on. However the new HEB by my house doesn't carry boxes of small bags of Frito's. (More on my non love of HEB later.) (It isn't all their fault.)
By then though I was committed to a fiesta, so we put it in bowls. (Wow. That is three minutes of your life you will never get back.)

I searched for cute cake ideas. I found some tacos, but I just wasn't inspired. I went with this. (Thanks Aunt V. for lending me your cake pans.)

Shaye dug it. She was tentative at first, but dug in later. In fact I am still finding icing in the kitchen. She is looking at Aunt Preeti like, "A fork please? Let's be civilized."

Her first ride on toy. She dug this too. Don't be fooled into thinking Tayte was helping her out of the goodness of his heart. He is just hoping to build up enough speed to throw her off on a turn so he can abscond with the toy.

Here Shaye is getting some love from Aunt Pree, also known as P$. She is not biologically an aunt, but the closest thing to a sister I have. Probably better than a sister even. No sibling rivalry or competition for attention.

No competing for attention here either. She has all Gramma's attention.

Well that is the birthday and for a short period of time I have both a one year old AND a two year old. But that will all change next week and I am already seeing both the wonderful and the dreadful characteristics of a three year old.

I am joining the hops today. I hope you join as well.

  11. That cake looks delicious and so pretty. I couldn't believe you let her have the entire top tier! Not because it's bad for her. But because that's less for you!
