A Recent Conversation with My Daughter

I had some alone time with Saigie the other day when she went with me to pick up her brother and sister. Here is how the conversation went.

Me. What did you do today at school?

Saigie: We graded some papers in math class.

M: So you cheated and said you got a 100?

S: No Mom, I really did get a 100. Then in science we did a big packet for Earth Day.

M: So for Earth Day you depleted the world of more resources by wasting paper?

S: No Mom, we used recycled paper. Then in social studies we learned about a civilization that sounds like, "a mess."

M: Mesopotamia?

S: Yes!!

M: What about the part where you missed me terribly all day long.

S: (very sarcastically) Yeah. That happened.

Hmmm. I don't know what she has against this constant harassment. I was really enjoying it. I also have no idea where she gets the sarcasm.

In other news. This is our new house.

Tada! It may not look like much now, but we have big plans for it. What you are looking at right at the very front is a porch. I have always wanted a porch. Selling our house and buying a new one was a big decision. We were prepared to stay "close" in our little house for the rest of forever, but we got the chance to move and took it. Coincidentally The Coach's sister and family got the opportunity to move too. A much bigger move from Kansas City. We will be living in the same neighborhood. How fun for the kids to get to grow up close to their cousins.
We are very thankful for all these opportunities.

  2. My son starts preschool in two weeks - is it wrong I'm hoping for a *few* tears at the beginning? Probably.

  3. Hi! Thanks for stopping by Windy Poplars - it was nice to meet you too :-) How fun buying a new house and living close to your family. That's a dream of mine for sure! Your race training is so inspirational! I wish I could run, but my knees simply can't handle the stress. Genetic. Bummer! So I do what I can and try to stay ahead of the weight gain! Hope you're having a lovely Tuesday...
